About M4A and M4R
M4A: M4A is an MPEG-4 container holding AAC audio. It sounds better than MP3 at the same size and is the default format for iPhone voice memos, Apple Music downloads and many Android recorders.
M4R: M4R is the iPhone ringtone format. It is an AAC audio file (the same as M4A) with a different extension, and iOS only accepts ringtones up to 30–40 seconds long.
