About AAC and M4R
AAC: AAC is the successor to MP3 and the audio codec behind YouTube, iTunes and most streaming services. A .aac file stores the raw AAC stream without an MP4 wrapper.
M4R: M4R is the iPhone ringtone format. It is an AAC audio file (the same as M4A) with a different extension, and iOS only accepts ringtones up to 30–40 seconds long.
