How to use the Audio Converter

    1. 1

Choose or drop one or more audio files (or videos — we extract the sound).

    2. 2

Pick the output format. Tap a device button if you're not sure.

    3. 3

Optionally open Advanced options to change bitrate, channels, volume or trim.

    4. 4

Press Convert. Your files download automatically when ready.

Smart conversion — instant when possible

When your file already contains audio the target format can hold (for example AAC audio inside an M4A going to M4R or AAC), the converter copies the audio stream instead of re-encoding it. That is instant and loses zero quality. It re-encodes only when it has to, using the same engines as professional software: LAME for MP3, FFmpeg AAC, libopus and libvorbis.

Which audio format should I choose?

    • MP3 — plays everywhere. The safest choice for sharing.
    • M4A (AAC) — better quality than MP3 at the same size, perfect for iPhone and Android.
    • WAV / AIFF — uncompressed, for editing in Audacity, GarageBand or a DAW.
    • FLAC / ALAC — lossless archives that are half the size of WAV.
    • OPUS / OGG — tiny files for voice notes, Android sounds and web apps.

    Frequently asked questions

Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Your browser does the work, so files up to around 1–2 GB work on computers. Phones handle a few hundred MB comfortably.
Will converting MP3 to WAV or FLAC improve the quality?
No. Lossless formats keep what's already there, but they can't restore detail that MP3 compression removed. Convert to WAV or FLAC when an app needs that format, not to improve sound.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes. Add as many files as you like, then press Convert. When they're done you can download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
    Do you keep my files?
No — we never receive them. Conversion runs inside your browser using WebAssembly, so your audio never leaves your phone or computer.
