How target-size compression works

The compressor divides your target size by the video's length to calculate the exact bitrate, reserves a little for audio, and lowers the resolution automatically when the bitrate gets too low for HD. That way the result looks as good as possible and stays under your limit.

Tips for the smallest files

Trim the parts you don't need first. Shorter videos compress better.
Choose 720p or 480p under Resolution.
Lower the frame rate to 24 or 30 fps for 60 fps phone videos.
Tick 'Remove audio' if the sound isn't needed.

What size limit does WhatsApp have?

WhatsApp sends videos up to about 16 MB as normal media (larger ones as documents, up to 2 GB). Statuses are limited to 60 seconds.

Will it work on my phone?

Yes, but compression is CPU-heavy. A 1-minute 1080p video takes about 1–3 minutes on a recent phone. Keep the screen on while it works.
